The DITRA-HEAT membrane is available in both mat and 12M roll formats and is designed to secure the system heating cables and serves as a universal substrate for tile coverings. Similar to DITRA, the original uncoupling membrane, DITRA-HEAT provides uncoupling to neutralize the differential movement stresses between the substrate and the tile covering to prevent cracked grout and tile, waterproofing to protect moisture-sensitive substrates, vapor management, and support.<\/p>\n
A viable floor warming system must address the magnified fluctuations in temperature that contribute to increased shear stresses between the substrate and the tile covering that can lead to tile cracking.
