Discover Nuet: La Tuilerie’s exclusive indoor claustra

claustra interieur la tuilerie

We love open spaces for their brightness, flow and sense of spaciousness. But in real life, we sometimes need to structure our rooms to make them more functional, without darkening the space by building a traditional closed wall. That’s where an indoor claustra becomes a particularly interesting option.

That’s exactly what the Nuet collection makes possible, a new exclusive addition at La Tuilerie.

With its ceramic indoor claustra modules, Nuet offers a lighter, more textured and more graphic way to divide a room. It’s the idea of a “wall that breathes”: you keep the light, add a sense of privacy and create a decorative element with true presence.

Ceramic indoor claustra: the art of dividing without closing off

Inspired by the mineral surfaces of contemporary Mediterranean architecture, the Nuet collection arrives at La Tuilerie as a solution that sits at the intersection of design, architecture and décor.

Its role is simple: to organize a space without fully closing it off.

Unlike a traditional partition, a ceramic indoor claustra allows light to pass through. It creates a visual separation while maintaining a sense of openness. That’s what makes it especially interesting for better defining zones without weighing down the décor:

  • In an entryway: it creates a softer transition into the living room.

  • In a bathroom: it defines a more intimate zone around the vanity.

  • In an open-plan space: it separates two functions, such as the living room and dining room, without cutting off the room.

The Nuet collection also stands out for its matte beige finish, natural texture and sense of depth. It does more than simply divide a room: it adds relief, movement and a true visual signature that catches the eye without overwhelming the space.

Extruded stoneware: authentic craftsmanship from Spain

The Nuet collection is made in Spain, in the Castellón region, which is recognized worldwide for its ceramic craftsmanship.

The modules are made of extruded stoneware. Unlike more traditional pressed tiles, extruded stoneware has a more compact, dense and robust structure, known for its resistance and long-term stability. This process consists of pushing ceramic clay through a mould to create a three-dimensional piece with a precise shape.

This manufacturing method gives the material a naturally more vibrant texture, lending it a character that is both structural and artisanal. At approximately 4 inches thick (nearly 10 cm), the modules add relief and a true sense of volume to the room. The collection is composed of three models, each with its own distinct personality.

Medio Tercio: linear subtlety

Claustra Medio Tercio au format rectangulaire créant un effet linéaire sobre, structuré et discret.

Medio Tercio is the most understated model in the collection. Its rectangular format (9.4″ × 4.6″) creates a calmer, more structured and more discreet effect. It’s a good choice for projects where you want to add texture without making the claustra the dominant feature in the room.

Ideal for: a bathroom, an entryway, a hallway or a minimalist space.

Eme: sculptural presence

Claustra Eme au design géométrique représentant un M et créant un relief sculptural marqué, idéal pour un mur signature ou une séparation entre deux zones de vie.

Eme takes its name from the letter M in Spanish. Its geometric design creates a more pronounced relief and a stronger sculptural effect. It’s the model to choose when you want the claustra to become the focal point of the décor.

Ideal for: a statement wall in the entryway or a separation between two living zones.

Vértices: dynamic shadow play

Claustra Vértices au motif angulaire et diagonal créant un jeu d’ombres dynamique, idéal pour un salon contemporain, un bureau à domicile ou une salle à manger audacieuse.

Vértices plays with angles and diagonals (9.4″ × 9.4″). Its pattern is more dynamic and shifts subtly depending on the viewing angle. Placed near a source of natural light, it creates beautiful shadow play throughout the day.

Ideal for: a contemporary living room, a home office or a dining room with a bold character.

Frequently asked questions about the Nuet collection

What is an indoor claustra?

An indoor claustra is an openwork structure used to divide or structure a room without fully closing it off. Unlike a solid wall, it allows light to pass through while creating a visual separation.

Does a claustra block light?

No. That’s exactly what makes a claustra so interesting. It creates a separation without blocking natural light. You get more privacy than in a completely open space, but with a much lighter result than a solid wall.

Where can the Nuet collection be installed?

The Nuet collection can be used in a variety of indoor claustra projects.

It can be imagined in an entryway, bathroom, living room, dining room, home office or even a commercial space. It is especially interesting when you want to create a visual boundary between two zones without fully closing off the space.

Can I install it myself?

It depends on the scope of your renovation. For a small decorative partition or accent feature, some projects may be simpler to complete.

However, when it comes to a full-height partition (from floor to ceiling), a large surface or a structure that needs to be perfectly stable, we strongly recommend having the installation validated and carried out by a professional.

A claustra is a three-dimensional structure, so it is important to plan for the right support, the right installation products and, in some cases, an adapted frame.

With which materials can it be paired?

Nuet’s matte beige finish pairs easily with several materials. With hardwood flooring, it creates a warm and natural atmosphere. With large-format tile, a concrete effect or a more understated stone, it adds relief. It also pairs beautifully with soft tones such as sand, cream, greige or warm white.

Can the Nuet collection be installed outdoors?

In Quebec, we recommend the Nuet collection for indoor use only.

Local weather conditions, especially freeze-thaw cycles, can affect materials installed outdoors. To avoid unpleasant surprises, it is best to reserve Nuet for indoor projects.

How do you maintain a Nuet claustra?

Maintenance is very simple. A soft, slightly damp cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment can be used to remove dust from the openings and reliefs, helping prevent buildup.
