A bold yet understated collection from Mara Design
It all began in November 2022 during the APDIQ annual conference.
After a few years when in-person gatherings were less frequent, the team from La Tuilerie wanted to do something special for the designers participating in the event. We offered them the chance to win an exclusive collaboration with La Tuilerie—a ceramic collection in their name!
Mara Design won the competition.
Five months later, La Tuilerie sales manager Nicolas Costard and Quebec City branch manager Sophie Latulippe hosted Mara Design to present a number of upcoming collections.
It was a time to converse and connect.
Like La Tuilerie, Mara Costachescu is committed to designing sustainable projects that meet her clients’ individual needs and make them proud to live in their homes.
She set her sights on the WADI collection for its simple sophistication.

“I was inspired by the collection’s naturalness to find evocative, inspiring colour names.”
WADI’s porcelain tiles appealed to her for five reasons:
The collection’s colours are rich and deep.
The rectangular shape allows for different layouts (brick pattern, straight, herringbone, etc.).
The Geo version makes it possible to create an accent section with soft, soothing hues.
The finish is soft and silky to the touch.
These tiles can be installed on both the wall and floor.

Seven natural colours that exude positivity and tranquility.
A soft, minimalist, geometric style.
2.5 × 12 in. porcelain tiles.
Two finishes: One matte, plain finish and one finish with twelve glossy geometric shapes.
