Warm rustic-chic by CMPG Design

“With this kitchen, we wanted to offer clients a functional and welcoming space to gather with family and friends. The result is a room where the warm materials of farmhouse style coexist beautifully with the clean lines of contemporary style. Both textured and geometric, the Artisan tile is a perfect representation of the mix of styles.”

“At HESSA, we believe that timelessness is conveyed through the absence of conceptual trends that are all the rage at a particular point in time. This belief guides all our projects, including this kitchen with its clean, tone-on-tone straight lines. The neutral shell allowed us to energize the space by opting for a sage green backsplash and colorful fixtures. The right balance of neutral and bold makes for a unique and daring result, while still remaining timeless.”

The Scandinavian by M ton intérieur

“This makeover is definitely one of the most extensive we’ve done to date! The goal was to maximize the available space. The light is beautiful and now flows throughout the house. The navy of the cabinets gives the room a lot of character with a lot of elegance. We chose the classic Cottage subway tile to add texture to the backsplash.”

The Farmhouse by Marie-Pier & Jolyane

“At the time we were sketching the plans for the house, we were at the worst point of the pandemic. We were dreaming of a warm kitchen where we could bring our family together again. For us, the kitchen is the heart of a house. Our inspiration: a classic white kitchen with champagne and black accents, a large island, a light quartz countertop and a hardwood floor. A handmade backsplash added the finishing touch to make our vision a reality.”

“This is our ORIGIN project. The kitchen is mid-century inspired with a colorful and warm touch. The idea was to create a beautiful and harmonious design detail for this space. The detail that hits the spot: a ceramic space on the floor to create a carpet effect under the island.”

“Our house in Vieux-Longueuil is cottage style and I wanted to preserve the character of the house with a timeless and bright kitchen. I like the details in the finish that add character to the white kitchen, like the wood shelves and textured ceramic. My inspirations: classic and warm French kitchens.”

“The inspiration for this kitchen came from the client: a masculine, linear, modern kitchen. So we opted for a mix of black and wood, while ensuring a nice line at the cabinet level. And on the floor, we chose a large format ceramic tile with straight lines to give the room a lengthy effect.”

Contemporary and Scandinavian at the same time by Mariscal Inc.

“This kitchen is found inside a renovated Canadian home. We wanted to achieve a modern yet warm look. So we chose a white perimeter with a Slim Shaker profile and a sleek backsplash designed with Evolution tiles in a vertical brick installation. To create a textural effect VS installation, I chose a white grout to minimize the contrast. Warmth is brought in with the large black island with gold accents and the touch of walnut with the shelves. To blend the kitchen with the rest of the house, we chose to continue the hardwood throughout the floor. It’s a 4 1/4 maple floor purchased at La Tuilerie in its raw state, sanded and then oiled on site.”

Backsplash with geometric shapes

Sometimes you have to be bold to put the accent on the kitchen backsplash. Tiles with geometric shapes, like the Cubica tile, add character to the room. We love the deep gray color and the aesthetics of this backsplash in Suzanne Coulombe’s kitchen.

The product used:

Backsplash: Cubica (discontinued).

The kitchen is the room where we gather, where we prepare and enjoy fine meals, where we try, where we fail, where we laugh. So the important thing is to be bold, to indulge yourself and to create a beautiful harmony in your interior to feel good at home.
